Having trouble getting motivated after the holiday? Join the club. I thought for fun this morning, we could agonize over which one song we most hope will make the album – or at least make a bonus track. Granted, we already know some of these will be on the CD, and Sweet Medicine has already been released as a bonus. Nonetheless, let’s pretend baby, that you’ve just met Jason and you never heard which songs might or might not be on his CD before… Ooo ooo oww.
Correct me gently if I screwed up any of the song titles. We do our best around here, and that’s the best we can do.
See it here!
And here they are! Six songs I’m playing because I felt like it, starring the letters D, double O, and the occasional T.
America – Sister Golden Hair
Swearsies: I put this song on my list *before* Jason tweeted his love for it the other day, but I replaced it with the Stones because I didn’t want to give the impression that I’m some kind of ass-kissing suck up.
And then I thought “Who am I kidding?”
Jason Mraz – Geek in the Pink
I debated whether or not I should slap an [Explicit] tag on this song because I didn’t want to give the impression that I’m a prude and force Lemon to tell me that SEX IS NOT THE ENEMY SEX IS NOT THE ENEMY SEX IS NOT THE ENEMY >>>>140 characters.
And then I thought “How is that any different from half the tweets I send her?”
P!nk w/William Orbit – Feel Good Time
Hey, Lemon — didn’t Beck write this song?
P!nk’s awesome. She can sing her face off, took her stage name from a character in Reservoir Dogs, is a committed animal and human rights activist and…..AND! …. has been a guest star on SpongeBob Squarepants. If for any reason Lemon were unable to fulfill her duties as World’s Most Perfect Woman, P!nk would be the one designated to step in and take her place.
Rolling Stones – Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo (Heartbreaker)
I never can remember that this song isn’t titled just “Heartbreaker”. Mostly because at no time do they sing the words “Doo doo doo doo doo”. What they sing is “doo-doo doo doo-doo doo.” Where’s the quality control, Mick?
The Kooks – Always Where I Need to Be
Do these guys know how lucky they are? I’m almost never where I need to be. I wonder where I can get some of that mojo, ’cause I need to be with Lemon in New York City on January 27th.
Christian TV – 1, 2, 3 Turnaround
I wish that Love Arcade’s Christian Berishaj had gone with a slightly different name for his new project ‘Christian TV’, because Googling it is a bitch. Go ahead – try it. It’s like Googling for the band Live.
And that’s it. I hope you liked the songs. If you liked them enough to get them for yourself, I hope you buy them from a legitimate music retailer rather than scouring the file-sharing networks for them. And if you get yours from a file-sharing network, I hope it comes wrapped in a nasty-assed Trojan Horse that gets access to your credit card information because using the internet to steal is harmless, right?
The Christian TV track isn’t available at Amazon. You can get that one at iTunes.
In honor of Jay’s success, and while waiting not so patiently for McLovin to put up some music, why not go back in time and listen to the Guest Shuffle featuring Jay Nash.
You can get a copy for 4 bucks right now on ITunes.
